Terra Rubra Lions Club American Heritage Patriotic Essay Contest

Eagle and flag

Each year, Lions District 22W sponsors a Patriotic Essay Contest in which the public is invited to submit essays expressing their views on different aspects of Patriotism. There are contest categories for elementary school students, middle school students, high school students (the contest is also open to home-schooled students in each of these categories), adults, and members of Lions or Lioness Clubs. Each club can sponsor contests in each category, and the winner of each is forwarded to the District 22W level for final judging. The District Winner in each category receives a $100 U.S. Savings Bond and an American Flag, and will be invited to read their essay before a meeting of the District 22W Cabinet.
