the Terra Rubra Lions are temporarily suspending all indoor activities until further notice. Events may be cancelled or

We regret the disruption, and we hope that all of our friends, neighbors and supporters stay safe and well.
IntroducingThe Terra Rubra Lions
Terra Rubra means "red earth" in
Latin, and refers to the distinctive red soil in northwest Carroll
County, Maryland. It's also the name of the estate in nearby Keysville
where Francis Scott Key, author of The Star-Spangled Banner, was born
in 1779.
The Terra Rubra Lions are a group of your neighbors
who have come together to serve our community. Our club was chartered in 1966, and
since then we've been offering a wide range of services to Carroll County, including
college scholarships, vision assistance, loans of convalescent equipment,
youth athletic programs, and much more.
We are proud to serve the rural Carroll and Frederick County
communities of Keysville, Keymar, Bruceville, Rocky Ridge, Detour, Ladiesburg, and
Middleburg.
The motto of Lions Clubs International is We Serve.
At Terra Rubra, service to our neighbors goes hand-in-hand with having a great time!

2020
What's New ...
Our 2020 Events Calendar is ready, and it's going to be another fun-packed year
with the familiar events you've come to expect from Terra Rubra: our Shrimp, Bull &
Oyster Roasts, the ever-popular Big 1500 Dinner & Cash Club,
along with lots of other fun stuff like our Daytona 500 Party,
Bingo, a Sportsman's Raffle, our annual Golf
Tournament, and of course FIVE Crab Feeds! Save the dates!
You'll probably notice that the ticket prices for some of our events have gone up a little
since last year. Unfortunately, costs for everything from the food we serve to the electricity
that keeps our lights on are going up, and to make sure that we can continue to meet our
commitment to serve our neighbors in need, we've had to respond with some modest changes
in what we charge for tickets to some (but not all) of our fund-raising events. Thanks for
your understanding, and we hope you will continue to support the Terra Rubra Lions as you
always have.
