Meeting Notes

Monday, May 4

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park for a work night. We had 17 members present and 4 guest helpers.

Monday, May 18

Attendance: We met at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Lions Dick & Linda Bowers. We had 21 members and 1 guest present for the evening. Our guest was Sarah Keefer with Lion J.R.

Health and Welfare: We had no reports under Health and Welfare.

Reports: Lion Lyle reported that the Scholarship Committee had selected 4 students to receive Terra Rubra Lions Scholarships. There would be two $500 awards and two $250 awards.

Lion Kevin Trump reported on the Golf Tournament. We had 16 less golfers than last year. We approved that our club put together a foursome of golfers to attend some tournaments sponsored by other clubs to show support and that should in turn bring out more golfers to our tournament.

Lion Terry Grable reported on the progress of the building renovation. He said that the new additions should be under roof by the end of the week. We purchased a walk-in cooler and it needed to be dismantled and removed from the store. A work night was set up for Thursday evening, May 21st to perform that task. Some of our members are donating various items for our building to help cut some of the cost to the club.

Business: There was no new business.

With no other business to attend to, President Sharon received a motion and second from Lions Kevin Trump and Lewana Walters and adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m. We enjoyed cake and some other dessert items and then went into a Board Meeting.

Club Reminders

• Our June 15th Meeting will be at Buttersburg Inn at 6:30 p.m. District Governor Susan Timmons will be installing our new officers for the coming Lions Year. Meal cost is $13.00 per person. Please let Lion Beth Sandifer know if you are planning to attend.
• Middleburg Park: We have plenty of little things that need to be done in order to have our building ready for the crab feed on June 27th. Please call Larry or Terry to see what you can help out with as final touches are being done.
• Custom Jacket or Shirt Orders: Contact Lion Terry Grable if you need to order anything.
