Meeting Notes

Monday, July 6

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park.

Attendance: We had 17 members and 2 guests present for the evening. Our guests were President Beth’s Parents; Jerry and Marlene Stivers.

Reports: President Beth had an updated committee list that she handed out to everyone.

Lion Larry Stambaugh gave the Treasurer's Report as to what we had in our accounts. He reported on the building renovation progress and said that we had some work to do during the upcoming week. A work night was set up for Tuesday, July 7th at 6:00 p.m. He also reviewed the new building rental agreement for any changes or additions.

Lion Kevin Trump gave his final report on our Golf Tournament.

Lion Larry Stambaugh reported on the June Crab Feed.

Business: We set the dates of September 19th for our first $1,200 Cash Club Feed and Drawing and August 2nd for our Open House Event at the park.

Our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon will be on August 23rd at the park.

President Beth’s Mom showed us the quilt that she made for the Quilt Raffle and tickets for the raffle were given out to members. President Beth has set up for two times at Safeway and once at Wal-Mart to have a ticket sales table for the quilt ticket sales. The drawing will be done at our General Home Merchandise Auction on November 14th. We will also need nice donations for that auction.

President Beth adjourned the meeting at 8:35 p.m.

Monday, July 20

We met at 6:30 p.m. at Middleburg Park.

Attendance: We had 20 members and 3 guests present for the evening. Our guests were Zone Chairman, Wayne & Lion Linda Sherfey and Sarah Keefer. President Beth presented Ms. Keefer with an Honorary Membership Award for her help working on the building.

Reports: Zone Chairman Wayne Sherfey talked on some of the things that District Governor Bob wants for this year. He also had dates of upcoming events and roster book changes this year. He is serving as pin coordinator this year too, and had some pins with him. He gave us Zone Meeting dates of August 25th at Taneytown, November 11th at New Windsor, February 22nd at Harney and April 19th at Terra Rubra.

Lion Larry Stambaugh reported on the building renovation progress. We scheduled a work night for Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. to get things set up for the Crab Feed.

Lion Susan Cox reported on the plans for the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to be held on August 23rd. We will have light snack food items at our “Open House” to be held on August 2nd as we show off our newly renovated building.

Business: There was no new business to discuss.

Lion Charlie Mehring won the 50-50 drawing with a value of $13.00 and donated it toward the Appreciation Luncheon. President Beth adjourned the meeting at 8:26 p.m. with a Board Meeting to follow.
